an easy one.

Here we go.

The first thing I like about me.

I thought I would start with an easy one. So the first think I like about me is my honesty.

As I mentioned I’m struggling with a lot in life. But I am honest about those struggles. I talk about them to people I invite them into the conversation, and this means I can ask for help when I need it.

You see, depression, self-harm, eating disorders, insomnia, addiction, bi-polar and all the rest have stigma about them. People are afraid to talk about it due to fear of misunderstanding or judgement. As a christian it makes it harder because there are some who say christians should have mental health.

Well they are wrong. I do. And I’m not weak because of it. I feel I have a duty to speak out about my struggles to be honest, so to inspire others to be honest about their struggles.

Due to the nature of this blog being about being nice, I’m proud to say that my honesty has changed things for people. It has inspired them and helped them and educated them on my struggles.

SO I like that I am honest, I guess that makes me a person of integrity.

Huh, that wasn’t so hard…..

  1. I like this very much! We need more people to be open as you are to get rid of stigma, and start releasing people from the guilt they feel around having a mental health issue-because the reality is the pressure we put on ourselves to put on the game face is often worse than what we’re going through!

  2. Transparency is key: when we are not 100% honest, things can easily be distorted. So your see-through-ness (!) not only helps you to live better, but also gives permission for others to do the same.
